Mr. Renat Bekturov, ex-CFO of AIX. Previously held a position of the Head of Asset management development department of AIFC Authority. He has over 10 years of experience in financial services industry. Prior to joining AIFCA he was head of Treasury at the National Investment Corporation of the National Bank of Kazakhstan.
Mr. Bekturov also worked at the Development Bank of Kazakhstan and was involved in number of the landmark debt capital market transactions, such as first Sukuk issue in CIS region. Renat is a member of the Presidential Youth Personnel Reserve.
Renat holds MSc degree in Banking and Finance with Distinction from University of Leicester and is a CFA Charter holder.
Zharas Mussabekov has over 10 years of experience in financial services, he led the Fund Operations division in the AIX. Previously he led the Treasury Department at the National Company Kazakhstan Railways.
Mr. Mussabekov also worked in the Baiterek National Management Holding at corporate finance and was involved in raising funds from the National Fund and the Republican budget. As an employee of the Development Bank of Kazakhstan, he participated in the Bank’s borrowings at debt capital markets and worked at the Bank’s Treasury.
Zharas started his career as an auditor at Deloitte in Financial Services Industry.
He has the degree of a Bachelor of Finance at Eurasian National University name after of L.N. Gumilyov.
Valerii is an IT manager with extensive experience in banking, FinTech, innovative IT solutions and financial industry as a whole.
He has over 20 years of IT management experience, developing comprehensive IT solutions and IT Operation in prominent international bank and financial companies in many European countries as well as China and Kazakhstan.
Valerii as a COO and partner in a financial company in China has successfully implemented innovative financial IT solutions for Operational Risk management based on Artificial Intelligence and Big Data.
He was approved by CBRC (China Banking Regulatory Commission) as an Executive Committee Member and by NBK as a bank Board Member.
Valerii has Master degree, Ukrainian State Chemical Technology University.
Olivier Gueris is a C-level Operations & Risk Management Executive with over twenty-five years of international experience within the Exchange industry.
After 7+ years as COO of Qatar Stock Exchange, crowned with an upgrade from Frontier to Emerging Market from MSCI, FTSE and S&P, Mr. Gueris moved on to Kazakhstan where he initially advised the Astana International Financial Centre to set up Astana International Exchange (AIX) and become the financial hub of Central Asia and beyond.
Prior to joining AIX, Olivier Gueris was the COO at Qatar Stock Exchange and held senior management positions at Turquoise MTF, Boston Options Exchange (BOX), the Australian Derivatives Exchange (ADX) and Euronext Paris.
Mr. Gueris holds a BA degree in Law from Université Panthéon Assas (Paris II).
Evgenia has more than 20 years of experience working on international capital markets. Before joining the AIX, Evgenia had led Legal IB and Corporate Governance teams at Renaissance Capital.
Prior to that she practiced law at White & Case in Moscow advising in connection with cross-border and domestic equity and debt offerings, M&A transactions, corporate restructurings, information disclosure issues, listing requirements, corporate governance.
Evgenia graduated from the Russian Academic Law University and began her career at the Russian Federal Commission for the Securities Market (later it has merged into the Central Bank of Russia), where she was involved in legislative drafting activities relating to the Russian securities market, including regulatory reform allowing direct issuance of debt securities in Russia by foreign issuers.
Ms. Mukazhanova has started her career back in 1992 in Foreign Operations of the Bank Turan. She has more than 25 –years of experience in financial/banking services industry and before joining AIFC/AIX Assel held a position of an Executive Director at JSC “Kazkommertsbank” focused on international banking, capital markets, investor relations, M&A and strategy issues.
Ms. Mukazhanova has been involved in a number of milestone transactions including fund raising transactions with multilaterals, syndicated loans, pre-IPO with a strategic investor, IPO, securitization, M&A transaction.
She graduated from the Kazakh Academy of Management with a degree in International Business and has been having executive studies at London and Harvard Business schools.
Mr. Nishanbayev has more than 20 years of private sector experience. His international experience includes being a consultant to a large state owned (China) engineering company in Myanmar, a chief financial officer (CFO) at a Canadian mining company with a listing at Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX). He also held the chief executive officer (CEO) position at a junior gold mining company in Kyrgyzstan. Mr. Nishanbayev’s experience also includes being a CEO at a large cement manufacturing facility in southern Kyrgyzstan. Prior to joining AIX he was the CFO at a large public coal mining company in Kazakhstan.
Educational background: MBA, TRIUM Global Executive MBA (London School of Economics, New York University Stern School of Business, HEC Paris); Bachelor of Business Administration, Baruch College, City University of New York, USA.
Mr. Khassanov has been a Senior Product Manager with 16 years of experience in tech with engineering background. He has a broad skills of shipping complex technologies to empower engineering and business teams. Previously Mr. Khassanov developed product strategies based on customer research and data driven analysis, implemented new products from scratch and managed marketing communications at Kolesa Group, Alfa bank, Beeline and Kcell.
He graduated from the National Technical University (Almaty, Kazakhstan) with M.S. degree in in Cybersecurity.
As Chief of Staff Ms. Pak is responsible for administrative, HR and procurement issues. Ms. Pak joined AIX in 2018 as Head of Communications leading on establishing internal and external relations and the exchanges’s brand Before AIX she has worked at various levels across a wide range of industries: in the British Embassy in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, KazMunaiGas Exploration & Production JSC, Sovereign Wealth Fund Samruk-Kazyna. Yelena is a co-founder and Editor-in-Chief of the first online magazine for PR professionals in Kazakhstan PR Drive. Graduated from the Alliance Manchester Business School (Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship) with MSc degree, Chartered Institute for Public Relations, and Eurasian National University named after Lev Gumilyov.
